Ancient and medieval coins from archaeological collections of International Caravanserai of Culture(ICC)

On December 15, 2014 at 16:00 at the International Caravanserai of Culture (MKSK) of Ikuo Hirayama of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan will open the exhibition "Ancient and medieval coins in the archeological collection of MKSK."

The exposition will include ancient and medieval coins, as well as photos of the most interesting ones and moments of archaeological excavations.

The archaeologist K.A. Sheyko will tell about the exhibits.

Copper and bronze coins presented at the exhibition were discovered during archaeological excavations of expedition of MKSK on Kanka (Islamic coins 9-12 centuries) and Karshaultepa (6-8 centuries. Among the findings a group of coins were highlighted with the name of Tarnavach and with an illustration of a camel, horse and predator) in Tashkent region and Munchaktepa (Greco-Bactrian king Euthydemus from the Kushan rulers and before the invasion of Genghis Khan), and HudaydodtepaShurob-Kurgan (early medieval and medieval) of Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan.
