Location. Spain is located in southwestern Europe and occupies about 85% of the Iberian Peninsula and its territory also includes the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean and the Canary islands in the Atlantic Ocean. The total area of ?? the country is 504,788 square kilometers; Spain is bordered by France, Portugal, Andorra and the British colony of Gibraltar. The cities of Ceuta and Melilla (in Morocco) and the islands of Velez de la Gomera, and Alusenas Chafaranas are under the control of Spain. In the east and south, the country is washed by the Mediterranean Sea and to the west by the Atlantic Ocean. Spain is located at the intersection of major sea and air routes linking Europe with the African and American continents. Most of the country is covered plateaus and mountain ranges, which are located around the plains and lowlands. Forests cover only 10% of the Spanish territory.

Climate. The country is dominated by a subtropical climate of Mediterranean type with mild winters and dry, hot summers. Pyrenees is surrounded by the Spanish coast, which hides it from the cold winds, and creates unique microclimate: 325 days of sunshine a year! 

Currency. EURO. 1 EURO = 100 Eurocent. Available banknotes: 500, 200, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 euros. Coins: 2 and 1 euro; 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 cents. Banknotes are the same in all countries of the Euro zone. The coins differ only in the design on one side, which are issued in each country in its own way (the second side is the same in all countries). Despite the difference in the design on one side, the coins of all countries in the Euro zone are accepted in each of the member countries. 

Documents. The citizens of Uzbekistan must get visa to travel to Spain. Spain is one of the countries, which are the participants of the Schengen Agreement. Persons, who have valid Schengen visa on their passport, can freely enter the territory of the country by any means of transport. The names of underage children, traveling on vacation with their parents must be entered in one of the parent’s passport and in visa issued by Visa Office.

Customs regulations. It is allowed to import 1 liter of liquor, 2 liters of fortified wine, 2 liters of dry wine, 200 cigarettes, 250 g of tobacco, 500 g of coffee and 100 g of tea free of duty.

Sanitary-epidemiological situation is rather favorable. There is no need for specific immunization before traveling to Spain.

Telephone. It is much cheaper to use phone boxes of "Telefonica" (the Spanish telephone company) than calling at the hotel. You can use coins or phone card (Tarjeta telefonica) for payment, which can be purchased at the hotel or at tobacco shops. In order to get international access you should dial 00, wait for the beep, dial country and city code and the local phone number. One minute of an outgoing call from a street phone box costs about 0.75 Euro. Prices of telephone calls at call centers can vary considerably.
